Event Overview

This is a “Run What You Brung” outlaw enduro race — built for bikes with soul, not race DNA.

Bring your Vintage Desert Sleds, Hand-built Hooligan Sportys, Scramblers, Dualsports, and ADV Rigs to see if you and your machine can handle our high-desert race course.

Join us for a laid-back weekend of camping, riding, wrenching, and trash talking — all for the love of motorcycles, no matter what you ride.

Event Description

The Biltwell 100 is a 5 year running race in Ridgecrest CA. Their motto is “Good Times, Not Lap Times”. It is the funnest race to participate in because it’s the kind of race where first-timers line up on vintage clunkers, street-legal scramblers, and cobbled-together oddities—all in the name of fun.

With a laid-back vibe, a course that's mellow two-track which turns out to be challenging but rideable, and a campout atmosphere the Biltwell 100 gives riders a chance to race without needing a race bike.

The ALTR Scramble is meant to build on that fun atmosphere and give Utahans who love vintage, custom and goofy bikes a place to come ride and camp for the weekend. It’s also a place for beginners to decide if they could really line up at a true desert race.

MISSION

Fueling Off-Road Racers for the fierce challenges that forge them.

ALTR Moto arms off-road riders to resist the Comfort Curse and OVERCOME every challenge the trail, the track, and life can throw at them.

Origin Story

When it comes to physical and mental health, I’ve been to hell and back—and it taught me that riding motorcycles offers far more than just looking cool or having fun (though that’s definitely part of it). Years of unchecked stress from running the rat race wrecked my health, leaving me in chronic pain and too sick to ride my dirt bike for an entire year.

At my lowest point—sick, depressed, and searching for something to hold onto—I bought a Triumph Scrambler to ride and customize. That machine wasn’t just a toy—it was a lifeline. It gave me purpose, control, and the drive to get strong enough to ride again. And when I did, the difference between life in the comfort lane and life on the trail was crystal clear.

Through this trial, many personal adventures and studies like "The Comfort Crisis" by Michael Easter, I've realized that comfort and convenience are at the root of many of today’s physical and mental health struggles. I've also learned that oftentimes the best prevention and coping methods aren’t actually found in a prescription, therapy, or even a cold plunge—they’re found in the wild. Out there in the backcountry, far from screens and schedules, where you’re forced to rely on yourself, your machine, and your nerve.

I believe wholeheartedly that enduring the discomfort of riding motorcycles offroad combined with the healing power of nature can return us to our primal strength and a healthy mental state. I also believe that competing with yourself and others expands your capabilities. And I've learned from experience that it’s more dangerous to play it safe in comfort than it is to take risks on the bike and in life.

I spent a year working with a dietician and 4 other doctors, rebuilding myself piece by piece, until I was strong enough to ride harder than ever. My passion for racing combined with my realization that I was taking health for granted grew into a purpose — I became a certified sports nutritionist to give other riders the tools to resist the same decline. Then ALTR MOTO was born.

We’re here to help you ALTR your path away from the comfort trap—and break free.
